El Retiro is wonderful, but Parque del Oeste and Casa de Campo are also very nice, especially if you take the cable car between both. What can I say about visiting with a baby? It's true that little ones will probably enjoy being outdoors and the city's parks are great for that. Depending on where you're going, there are also bus services, to Avenida América and to Cibeles/Atocha. (Also, I just checked Spain's driving rules, it seems indeed that taxis are exempt from child seat requirements, but children do need to use the back seats.)Īs has been said, the metro is a good alternative, although it can be a bit of a hassle if you're carrying a lot of luggage. If it's a legal requirement for taxis, they're the ones getting in trouble for not having one, so I guess it's not a requirement. I have also taken taxis with a baby in Madrid without a child car seat, and the driver never said anything. I have used AeroCity and never had any problems.
